Terms of Service
Effective August 21, 2026
These terms govern your use of Retriever. By using the service you agree to them.
What the service is — and isn’t
Retriever helps you find class-action settlements you may qualify for, prepares claim information, and tracks claim status. Retriever is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. We do not represent you, and using the service does not create an attorney–client relationship. You can always file a claim directly with a settlement administrator for free.
Estimates
Every dollar amount we show is an estimate based on public settlement terms. Eligibility and payment amounts are determined by settlement administrators and the court. We do not promise that you qualify, that you will be paid, or how much or when.
Your responsibilities
You agree that the information you provide — quiz answers, identity details, and anything in a claim — is true and accurate. Administrators verify claims, and false claims can have legal consequences. You file free claims yourself, under your own name, and you are responsible for what you submit.
Paid plans
If we offer a paid plan, its price, billing period, and what it includes will be shown before you buy, and you can cancel renewal at any time. Paid plans never change who decides eligibility or payment: the administrator and the court do.
Referral programs
If we offer referral rewards, rewards are credited only when the program’s conditions are actually met, and commercial referral commissions are paid only when a referred recovery pays out. You compose and send your own invitations; we never send messages on your behalf. Businesses can always file claims directly with settlement administrators for free.
Accounts and texts
You must provide a mobile number you control. By providing it you agree to receive verification codes and service messages as described in our Privacy Policy; reply STOP to opt out of non-essential texts.
Limits on liability
The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for claims that are rejected, delayed, or paid less than estimated, or for losses arising from information you provided. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Changes
We may update these terms. We’ll post the new effective date here and, for material changes, notify you by email.
